In the quest to create linkages with regional economic organizations and promote the importance of ICTs and telecentres, it is important for regional civil society organizations to support increased policy implementation processes both at national and regional level. SATNET has initiated the telecentre capacity development programme where telecentre networks and focal points are expected to develop their institutional growth mechanisms and provide required services.

KenTel in partnership with Microsoft organised a one day capacity building event for telecentres, NGOs and other institutions to learn about some of the existing ICT tools and solutions that they can take advantage of to improve their work. The event brought together various institutions and organizations among them, The Kenya ICT Board, Microsoft, Intel and World Vision.
KenTel took the opportunity to share some of the work currently being done in partnership with partners like CTA, Telecentre.org, Taking IT Global and Microsoft to the participants.
