| Ugo Vallauri, David Newman and Jonathan Campaigne discuss small farm productivity issues which are key to economic growth and poverty reduction. They discuss how farmers are not effectively linked to the larger industry and therefore how mobiles phones can be used to help with this area. Farmers use these phones which allow people to enter markets and improve access to partners thereby improving their likelihoods and food security. |

Uganda Development Services - ICT Training |
| www.ugandadev.org Uganda Development Services (UDS) is a Christian non-governmental organisation whose mission is to contribute to the socio-economic development of communities in Uganda through information sharing and technical empowerment. The Ugandan NGO provides grass roots support for the people of Kamuli, Eastern Uganda through providing a library, resource centre and study area in its Community Telecentre as well as IT training and a cyber café. This is an important resource for students and local citizens who access information on a wide range of matters ranging from healthcare to land management. The ICT training suite offers training in Computer Literacy and Internet use for individuals and for community based organisations (CBOs) This forms part of the Capacity building services that UDS provides for local NGOs and CBOs in finance, fundraising, communication and leadership skills.
